The journey of 39 West American Bistro began 16 years ago with an investment in West Chester, and the opening of New York Sandwiches. Before long, this establishment was a town favorite, known for its freshly-prepared soups, salads, and sandwiches. It was also known for exceptional catering, for both personal and corporate events.
In 2006, the business was sold and the family opened Cosimo Restaurant & Wine bar in Malvern. Cosimo received great critical acclaim from the likes of Craig Leban (Aug. 2008, Philadelphia Inquirer), as well as Main Line Today and Philadelphia Magazine. This unique restaurant was the culmination of fine wine and exquisite cuisine, boasting an impressive 40 bottle wine preservation system. It catered to some of the most discriminating diners in the area, and opened their eyes to many amazing wine experiences.
Today, I am excited to be back in West Chester to embark on my newest adventure, 39 West American Bistro. This neighborhood bistro and wine-friendly BYOB will focus its menu on seasonal ingredients from local sources, prepared with a contemporary flair. The casual and friendly atmosphere of 39 West Bistro hopes to welcome friends old and new. I am looking forward to the opportunity to showcase our outstanding food, excellent service, and unparalleled hospitality to you and this very special town.
